AN ACT

To amend chapter 527, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to adverse possession actions.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 527, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 527.182, to read as follows:

            527.182. No action for adverse possession shall be instituted unless, with the common law elements of adverse possession, a receipt for payment of the most recent property taxes due on the property being claimed in the action is filed with the pleadings.
