AN ACT
To repeal section 60.010, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to county surveyor residency requirements.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Section 60.010, RSMo, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 60.010, to read as follows:
60.010. At the regular general election in the year 1948, and every four years thereafter, the voters of each county of this state in classes two, three and four shall elect a registered land surveyor as county surveyor, who shall hold his office for four years and until [his] a successor is duly elected, commissioned and qualified. The surveyor may be a resident of the county in which the person is elected if required by the governing authority of the county. The person elected shall be commissioned by the governor.
