HCS HB 1108 -- SPECIAL LICENSE PLATE

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on
Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 15 to 4.

This substitute allows for a special license plate for members of
the National Rifle Association.

To obtain the special plate, individuals must obtain an
emblem-use authorization statement from the association ($25
contribution) and present it to the Department of Revenue along
with a payment of a $15 fee in addition to the registration fee
and any other documents required by law.  Revenue from
contributions will be used by the National Rifle Association
solely for the purposes of the Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Program,
youth programs, and education and training in the State of
Missouri.  No additional fee will be charged for the
personalization of license plates.

FISCAL NOTE:  Not available at time of printing.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that members of the National Rifle
Association would like the opportunity to obtain this plate.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Crawford.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
