HCS HB 1123 -- SPECIALIZED LICENSE PLATES
SPONSOR: Crawford (Smith, 14)
COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 18 to 0.
This substitute prohibits, beginning January 1, 2005, production
of specialized license plates until at least 250 applications for
a specific plate have been received by the Department of Revenue.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2005, FY 2006, and
FY 2007.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say the bill will curb the number of
requests for specialty plates.
Testifying for the bill was Representative Smith (14).
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
