HB 1149 -- MEMORIAL BRIDGE

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation and Motor Vehicles by a vote of 19 to 0.

This bill names the bridge on Interstate 44 crossing the Little
Piney Creek in Phelps County as the "Trooper Mike L. Newton
Memorial Bridge."

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this is a deserving recognition
for one who has given his life for the protection of Missourians.

Testifying for the bill were Representative May; State Highway
Patrol; and Missouri State Troopers Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
