HB 962 -- CAMPAIGN FINANCE DISCLOSURE
SPONSOR: May
COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Elections by a vote of 11 to 0.
This bill revises the limit, from $1,000 to $3,000, on
contributions and expenditures certain candidates may receive or
make without being required to file exemption statements
regarding campaign finance disclosure reports.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2005, FY 2006, and
FY 2007.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that increasing the trigger amount
for requiring exemption statements will save time and money for
county clerks.
Testifying for the bill were Representative May; and Missouri
Association of County Clerks.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
