HB 1053 -- Sexual Offenders

This bill makes changes in the laws governing child pornography.
The bill:

(1)  Changes possession of child pornography from a class A
misdemeanor to a C felony.  The crime becomes a class B felony
when the offender possesses 100 or more images of child
pornography;

(2)  Adds possession of child pornography to the list of crimes
requiring the offender to register as a sex offender; and

(3)  Adds possession of child pornography to the list of sexual
offenses for which an offender may be sentenced as a persistent
sexual offender or as a predatory sexual offender.
