HB 1452 -- Corporal Punishment in Schools

This bill prohibits corporal punishment in any school district.
A declaration that spanking by certificated personnel in
accordance with written school board policy is not child abuse is
repealed, as are abuse investigation procedures for abuse
allegations stemming from spanking.  Investigation procedures for
child abuse charges against school personnel that do not stem
from the administration of corporal punishment remain the same.

The bill becomes effective July 1, 2005.
