HB 1590 -- Involuntary Manslaughter

Sponsor:  Portwood

This bill revises the crime of involuntary manslaughter.  Under
the bill, a person commits the crime of involuntary manslaughter,
a class C felony, when he or she:

(1)  Commits a crime involving a controlled substance; and

(2)  The controlled substance is the cause of death of any
person; and

(3)  The person's death could have been avoided had aid been
summoned.
