Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1698 -- Driver's Licenses

This bill requires an applicant for a driver's license or a
temporary permit who is under 18 years of age or who is not an
emancipated minor to present evidence that he or she is enrolled
in a high school, has an attendance rate greater than 85%, and
maintains a grade point average of 1.75 or higher or shows
satisfactory progress in an alternative education program.  The
bill also contains provisions for persons that are home schooled.
