Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1734 -- Publication of Legal Notices

Sponsor: Munzlinger

Under current law, a newspaper must be published regularly and
continuously for a period of three years before it is qualified
to publish public advertisements, orders of publication, and
legal publications affecting the title to real estate. This bill
states that when a county is served by only one newspaper that
has been published regularly and continuously for two years and
has met all other statutory requirements, the newspaper is
qualified to publish these notices. This provision expires June
30, 2006.

The bill contains an emergency clause.
