HB 846 -- Parental Visitation Rights

Sponsor:  Purgason

This bill requires courts to make orders concerning custody and
visitation rights in a manner that protects any child for whom
the parent has custodial or visitation rights.  Current law
requires custody and visitation orders to protect the child who
is the subject of the order.

The bill also prevents courts from awarding unsupervised
visitation or custody to a parent who has committed a sex offense
against a child.  Current law prevents courts from awarding
custody to a parent who has committed a sex offense against the
child who is the subject of the order.
