HB 892 -- Highways

This bill requires the Department of Transportation to examine
traffic congestion problems in Kansas City at the intersections
of 52nd Street and U. S. Highway 71, 55th Street and U. S.
Highway 71, and 75th Street and U. S. Highway 71.  The department
must conduct a feasibility study to determine whether an overpass
system should be established at these intersections and whether a
direct exit from Interstate 70 to U. S. Highway 71 should be
established as well as any other alternatives to help alleviate
intersection congestion.  A report summarizing the department's
findings must be submitted to the General Assembly by December 1,
2004.
