HB 910 -- Wireless 911 Service

Current law allows the Governor to seek voter approval at any
time for a statewide 50-cent monthly cell phone fee to fund
wireless 911 emergency service.  This bill repeals that
authority, but contains a referendum clause to place the issue on
the November 2004 ballot or on the ballot of a special election
called by the Governor.
