HB 968 -- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Sponsor: Phillips This bill increases by 5% the temporary assistance for needy families (TANF) benefit received on behalf of a child whose biological parents are married to each other and living together for any portion of the five-year eligibility period that the biological parents are married. In situations where a biological parent is living with, but is not married to, an intimate partner, the intimate partner's income and resources must be included when determining eligibility for TANF benefits.
