HJR 41 -- State Board of Education

This proposed constitutional amendment increases the membership
of the State Board of Education from eight to nine and specifies
that three members be active classroom teachers.  The teacher
members would be appointed pursuant to statute, and the six lay
members would continue to be appointed by the Governor.  The
terms of members are reduced from eight years to three years.
Teacher members would serve one term, while lay members could be
reappointed for a second term.
