AN ACT
To repeal section 1.028, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to official state language.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Section 1.028, RSMo, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 1.028, to read as follows:
1.028. The general assembly recognizes that English is the [common] official language used in Missouri and recognizes that fluency in English is necessary for full integration into our common American culture for reading readiness.
