AN ACT
To amend chapter 208, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to Medicaid reimbursement for health care providers, with an emergency clause.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 208, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 208.183, to read as follows:
208.183. Beginning in fiscal year 2005, the Medicaid reimbursement rate for physician providers under the program shall be increased by two percent for each of the next five fiscal years.
Section B. Because immediate action is necessary to ensure adequate reimbursement for Medicaid providers section A of this act is deemed necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, welfare, peace, and safety, and is hereby declared to be an emergency act within the meaning of the constitution, and section A of this act shall be in full force and effect July 1, 2004, or upon its passage and approval, whichever later occurs.
