To authorize the conveyance of property in the county of Greene owned by the board of governors of Southwest Missouri State University, with an emergency clause.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section 1. 1. The board of governors of Southwest Missouri State University is hereby authorized and empowered to sell, transfer, grant, and convey all interest in fee simple absolute in property owned by the board of governors in the county of Greene. The property to be conveyed, along South Scenic Avenue in the city of Springfield, is more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter (NW1/4 SW1/4) of Section 34, Township 29N, Range 22W, thence north 3,400 feet, thence East 650 feet, thence southwesterly to a point 200 feet east of the beginning point, thence west to the beginning, consisting of approximately 25 acres.
2. Consideration for the conveyance shall be as negotiated by the board of governors and the purchaser of the property.
3. The attorney general shall approve the form of the instrument of conveyance.
Section A. Because immediate action is necessary to authorize the board of governors of Southwestern Missouri State University to convey the real property and to receive the proceeds from the conveyance, section 1 of this act is deemed necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, welfare, peace, and safety, and is hereby declared to be an emergency act within the meaning of the constitution, and section 1 of this act shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval.
