HB 397 -- DISABLED PERSONS LICENSE PLATES

SPONSOR:  Henke

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Health Care Policy by a vote of 11 to 0.

This bill adds certified nurse practitioners to the list of
health care providers authorized to issue a physician's statement
for the purpose of obtaining a disabled license plate.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and
FY 2008.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will help disabled
individuals in rural Missouri who live in areas where there are
few doctors.

Testifying for the bill was Henke.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
