HB 453 -- CONVEYANCE IN PHELPS COUNTY
SPONSOR: May
COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Corrections and Public Institutions by a vote of 8 to 0.
This bill authorizes the Governor to convey state property
located in Phelps County to the City of St. James.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and
FY 2008.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the bill conveys a piece of
property adjacent to the St. James Veterans Home to the City of
St. James for use as a biking trail. This is a four-stage
project which makes a biking and hiking trail between the City of
St. James and Meramec State Park.
Testifying for the bill were Representative May; Missouri
Veterans Commission; and City of St. James.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
