HB 784 -- DISPLAY OF FLAGS ON SEPTEMBER 11

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass" by the Committee on Veterans
by a vote of 11 to 0.

This bill requires the United States flag and the Missouri state
flag to be flown at half-staff on September 11 of each year.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and
FY 2008.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill requires that the
United States flag and the Missouri state flag be flown at
half-staff on September 11 each year to commemorate those who
died on September 11, 2001.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Meadows; and Veterans
of Foreign Wars.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
