HB 223 -- Transportation Oversight Advisory Committee

This bill requires the Department of Transportation to create an
oversight advisory committee to examine traffic congestion
problems in Kansas City at the intersections of U. S. Highway 71
at 52nd Street, 55th Street, and 75th Street.  The department
along with the Highways and Transportation Commission must
conduct a feasibility study to determine whether an overpass
system should be established at these intersections and explore
other alternatives to help alleviate congestion.  A report
summarizing the department's findings must be submitted to the
General Assembly by December 1, 2005.
