Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 353 -- Probation

Sponsor:  Lipke

This bill changes the laws regarding probation.  The bill:

(1)  Allows the court to add up to a year onto a person's
probationary period when the person has violated the terms of his
or her probation;

(2)  Allows a prosecutor to file a motion seeking the revocation
of a person's probation; and

(3)  Requires the court to temporarily suspend a person's
probationary period when issuing an arrest warrant for the
person.  When the arrest warrant is served, the probation period
will begin to run again.
