HB 507 -- Property Tax Assessment Reductions

Sponsor:  Dougherty

This bill decreases by 15% the assessed valuation of real
property owned and occupied by individuals 62 years of age or
older and freezes the valuation at that level.  Any revenue lost
by counties and political subdivisions will be replaced through
appropriations.

The provisions of the bill will expire six years from the
effective date.
