HB 581 -- Veterans' Death Certificates

This bill prohibits a person from charging a veteran's immediate
family a fee for copying the veteran's death certificate if the
copies are to be used by the family to file for benefits.

The family member must provide a written notarized statement
specifying the exact number of copies needed and indicating how
many will be used to file for benefits.
