Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 75 -- Missouri Minority Business Advocacy Commission

Sponsor:  Bland

This bill changes the laws regarding the Missouri Minority
Business Advocacy Commission.  The bill:

(1) Requires two members to be added to the commission, with one
representing labor and one representing non-minority business;

(2) Requires the four legislative members of the commission (two
from the House of Representatives and two from the Senate) to be
selected from the minority party in each legislative body; and

(3) Removes the maximum per diem amount which may be paid to
commission members appointed by the Governor.

All state retirement plans are required to develop affirmative
action plans for the utilization of minority and women money
managers, brokers, and investment counselors.

The bill also moves the provisions governing the commission from
Chapter 33, RSMo, to Chapter 37 and updates intersectional
references accordingly.
