HB 79 -- Charter Schools

This bill requires the State Board of Education to establish
procedures for evaluating charter schools for compliance with
school-level accreditation standards by April 1, 2006.  Charter
schools in the Kansas City School District must meet these
standards or show proof of accreditation from an independent
accreditor.  By the 2006-2007 school year, sponsors must suspend
or revoke the charter of noncompliant charter schools in the
Kansas City School District.
