HB 856 -- Marital and Family Therapists Sponsor: Lampe This bill requires an applicant applying for a marital or family therapist license after August 28, 2007, to complete a minimum of three hours of graduate-level course work in diagnostic systems in the curriculum leading to their degree. Persons licensed before August 28, 2007, must provide to the State Committee for Family and Marital Therapists evidence of existing course work and supervision in diagnostic systems. If a licensee is not able to present evidence of existing course work, the licensee must develop a plan approved by the committee to demonstrate competency in diagnosis. Every licensed therapist is required to biennially provide to the committee evidence of at least 40 contact hours of continuing education.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
