HB 901 -- Missouri State Diabetes Commission Sponsor: Pratt This bill establishes the Missouri State Diabetes Commission within the Department of Health and Senior Services consisting of at least 10 members, including the department director, physicians, health care professionals, and a representative of the American Diabetes Association. The members must be appointed by November 1, 2005; and the commission must meet every 90 days. The commission's duties include holding public hearings, developing a state strategy for the prevention and control of diabetes, identifying the role of health care providers in the prevention and control of diabetes, and reporting annually on its activities to the department director and the General Assembly.
