HB 937 -- Bullying in Schools Sponsor: Kraus This bill requires school districts to develop a policy by September 1, 2006, to prevent harassment, intimidation, and bullying on school property, school buses, and at school functions. The policy must cover the consequences and remedial action for bullying, procedures for reporting and investigating it, and the involvement of parents of students involved in the incident. The bill prohibits retaliation and requires reporting of incidents for which employees, students, and volunteers are exempted from liability under certain conditions. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will develop a model policy by December 1, 2005.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
