AN ACT

To amend chapter 226, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to highways.





Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 226, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 226.006, to read as follows:

            226.006. The department of transportation shall create an oversight advisory committee composed of not less than ten members to examine the traffic congestion problems which occur at the intersections of Fifty-Second Street and U.S. Highway 71, Fifty-Fifth Street and U.S. Highway 71, and Seventy-Fifth Street and U.S. Highway 71. The department, in consultation with the commission, shall conduct a feasibility study to determine whether overpass systems should be established at such intersections and shall also explore other avenues which would help alleviate congestion at those intersections. The department of transportation shall summarize its findings and report them to the general assembly no later than December 1, 2005.
