AN ACT
To amend chapter 374, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the Missouri foundation for health.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 374, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 374.1100, to read as follows:
374.1100. 1. For purposes of this section, the "Missouri Foundation for Health" means the foundation created on January 6, 2000, as part of a negotiated agreement between Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Missouri (BCBSMo), the Missouri department of insurance, and the Missouri attorney general to identify existing public and private health care services for the uninsured and underinsured within eighty-four counties of Missouri and the city of St. Louis formerly covered by BCBSMo.
2. The community advisory committee of the Missouri foundation for health is hereby abolished.
3. Beginning with the 2006 appointments to the board of directors of the Missouri foundation for health, all appointments to the board of directors for the Missouri foundation for health shall be made by the governor, with the advice and consent of the senate. The board shall consist of sixteen members, with equal board membership from each of the two major political parties in this state.
