AN ACT

To amend chapter 227, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the designation of a memorial highway.





Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 227, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 227.370, to read as follows:

            227.370. The portion of Interstate 44 in Phelps County from the Crawford County line west to the Pulaski County line, except where otherwise designated, shall be designated the "Mel Carnahan Memorial Highway", in recognition of the former governor's contributions to the state of Missouri. The department of transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs commemorating this portion of highway. Costs for such designation shall be paid for by the Democrat Freshman Caucus.
