HB 1105 -- DRIVER'S LICENSE RENEWALS SPONSOR: Wilson (119) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Transportation by a vote of 16 to 0. This bill exempts active duty soldiers and their spouses from maintaining a valid Missouri driver's license while stationed outside the United States. The exemption will not extend beyond the 90-day period immediately following the soldier's discharge or the date on which he or she returns to Missouri, whichever occurs first. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds in FY 2007, FY 2008, and FY 2009. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that military personnel and their families who are making a sacrifice to protect our interests and freedoms should receive this exemption.
