Summary of the Committee Version of the Bill

HCS HB 1382 & 1158 -- SPECIAL LICENSE PLATES FOR MILITARY
PERSONNEL

SPONSOR:  St. Onge (Kraus)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation by a vote of 11 to 0.

This substitute removes the one-set limit on special military
license plates that may be issued to a qualified applicant.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on General Revenue Fund in FY 2007, FY
2008, and FY 2009.  Estimated Income on Other State Funds of
$3,731 in FY 2007, $4,478 in FY 2008, and $4,478 in FY 2009.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that military plates should not have
a restriction on the number of plates a person may obtain.

Testifying for HB 1382 was Representative Brown (30).  Testifying
for HB 1158 was Representative Kraus.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
