HB 1084 -- Child Care Providers

This bill requires in-home child care providers who are exempt
from licensure requirements to furnish the parents or legal
guardians of any child receiving services a background check of
every person in the home older than 17 years of age.  A
background check must be conducted prior to the initial provision
of child care services and every two years thereafter and must
include a screening for child abuse or neglect and a criminal
record review.

Child care providers are required to notify the Department of
Health and Senior Services that they have complied with the
background check requirements.
