HB 1587 -- Firearm Permits

This bill requires sheriffs to immediately issue a permit to
acquire handguns to anyone who possesses a valid concealed carry
permit if the person has not undergone any change in status that
would make him or her ineligible from receiving a permit to
acquire handguns.

If a person with a valid concealed carry permit has undergone a
change in status that would affect his or her ability to receive
a permit to acquire a handgun, he or she must go through the same
application process as anyone who does not possess a concealed
carry permit.
