HB 1602 -- Assisted Suicides

This bill specifies that licensed health care professionals
cannot intentionally or knowingly prescribe, dispense, or
administer lethal doses of any substance for the purpose of
assisting in the death of an individual.  Any professional
violating this provision will be guilty of a class D felony.  If
the person dies, the health care professional will be guilty of a
class A felony.

The provision will not apply to a person who assists the state or
federal government in the lawful execution of the death penalty
by means of lethal gas or injection.
