HB 1648 -- Child Abuse and Neglect

This bill allows the Children's Division within the Department of
Social Services to consult with the local law enforcement agency
to determine the level of law enforcement involvement that will
be necessary to initiate an investigation of child abuse and
neglect.  Nothing will prevent local law enforcement from
investigating any and all aspects of a complaint after they
receive notice from the division.
