Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 1809 -- Four-Day School Week

Sponsor: Kingery

Currently, a school year is based on a five-day week that
requires a minimum pupil attendance calendar of 174 days and
1,044 hours. This bill allows a school district to adopt a
four-day week by resolution of the local school board. A
four-day week calendar will require the same number of hours and
at least 142 days. The bill also makes technical changes to
several sections to accommodate a four-day week.
