HB 1825 -- Local Television Broadcast Captioning

Sponsor:  Dusenberg

Beginning on January 1, 2007, this bill requires Missouri
television stations with gross revenues over $3 million a year to
provide real-time captioning for deaf and hearing-impaired
persons of all local news, weather, and sports broadcasts.
Expenditures may be limited to 2% of a television station's gross
annual revenue.  The use of electronic newsroom technology will
not be sufficient to comply with the bill.
