HB 1834 -- Gifted Education Advisory Council Sponsor: Lampe This bill establishes the Advisory Council for the Education of Gifted Children, a nine-member board appointed by the Governor to advise the Commissioner of Education. Only four of the members may have an affiliation with a school district, but all members must have experience or training in working with gifted children. Members will serve a three-year term and may be reappointed once. The council's duties include commenting on proposed rules and policies for gifted education, reviewing relevant state plans, submitting an annual report, and selecting up to three outstanding gifted programs each year.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
