HB 1866 -- Fraudulent Signatures on Petitions

Currently, a person is guilty of a class A misdemeanor with a
maximum penalty of one year in prison and/or a fine of $10,000 or
less for knowingly signing a name that is not his or her own to
an initiative petition. This bill increases the penalty to a
class one election offense with up to five years in prison and/or
a fine of $2,500 to $10,000.
