HB 1935 -- Proof of Financial Responsibility

This bill requires a motor vehicle dealer to verify that a buyer
has proof of financial responsibility on a vehicle prior to
issuing a temporary permit or paper plate.  Dealers will be
required to affix a copy of the document demonstrating proof of
financial responsibility to the application for a temporary
permit or paper plate.

Dealers who fail to comply with the provisions of the bill will
be subject to disciplinary action as prescribed by law or a
penalty assessed by the Department of Revenue not to exceed $300
per violation.
