HB 2079 -- Women's Health Services Program Sponsor: Harris (110) This bill requires the Department of Health and Senior Services to implement the Women's Health Services Program, beginning July 2007, with the goal of providing health care services, education, and screenings to low-income and uninsured women up to $150 per patient annually. Services will be provided on a sliding-scale fee schedule based on income as established by the department. The program will include, but is not limited to: (1) Breast and cervical cancer screening and mammograms; (2) Screening and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases; (3) Counseling and education on the dangers of smoking, alcohol, and drug use during pregnancy; (4) Education on heart disease, sexual coercion, and violence in relationships; and (5) Cholesterol and diabetes screenings and physical examinations.Copyright (c) Missouri House of Representatives
