HB 2080 -- Emergency Services

This bill allows county boards regulating emergency services to
submit ballot issues to voters and authorizes the boards to
impose, upon voter approval, a surcharge of up to 50 cents per
month on any cellular phone registered in the requisite service
area for the purpose of providing emergency service to the area.
Twenty-five percent of the surcharge revenue must be used for the
construction and maintenance of emergency warning sirens.
