Summary of the Introduced Bill

HB 2112 -- Contraceptives for Minors

Sponsor: Davis

This bill prohibits a licensed health care professional from
prescribing or dispensing or a licensed pharmacy from dispensing
any contraceptive drug or device to an unemancipated minor
without the consent of the minor's parent. Anyone who
prescribes, gives, or provides a contraceptive drug or device to
an unemancipated minor must include a notation that parental
consent was obtained from the minor's parent. Anyone who
violates this provision will be guilty of a class C misdemeanor.

A licensed health care professional, licensed pharmacy, or
licensed pharmacist who in good faith believed parental consent
was obtained, when in fact it was not, will not be held civilly
or criminally liable.
