HB 2145 -- Alternative Education

Sponsor:  Bland

This bill requires that, beginning with Fiscal Year 2007, 1% of
appropriations for basic state school aid be distributed by the
Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to establish and
maintain alternative education programs.  School districts must
offer alternative education by July 1, 2007, in order to continue
receiving state aid.

The bill contains an emergency clause.
