HB 2146 -- Alternative Education Programs

This bill requires that 1% of the foundation formula, exclusive
of categorical funds, in each district must be devoted to
alternative schools and that districts must offer alternative
education as a condition of funding beginning with Fiscal Year
2007.  Beginning with the 2006-07 school year, each district must
form an alternative education committee to assess its needs.  The
bill specifies the membership and responsibilities of the
committee.

The bill contains an emergency clause.
